Peptic Ulcers
Peptic ulcers occur when the protective mucous lining in the stomach is exposed to HCI and pepsin. This exposure destroys the cell membrane. When the lesion is created there is an increase in blood flow and acid secretions, which causes multiple tissue to burn. Ulcer's are typically linked to Heliobacter pulori which is a bacteria. Diet, stress and other factors may also play a role in the development.
