Ontario Science Center Discovery Guide
This guide can be used for the AstraZeneca Human Edge Exhibit at the Ontario Science Center. Students will be required to download an app, but it is completely free and adds an interactive component to the exhibit. It even includes a punnett square example!

Gizmo's
These activities using this program are a great way to view both monohybrid and dihybrid crosses in action. Students will be able to play around to really understand the ratios. Click each depending on each type of cross.
Virtual Lab: Punnett Squares
This activity allows students to examine punnett squares as they would in a lab, with having access to journals, calculators, and other tools to help them examine it. Within this activity, there are embedded videos and punnett squares. It is also possible to complete assessment of learning by having your students complete the journal entry or the table and have them email it to you.
Online Quia Quiz
This is a great quiz that you can use with your students, where they use a computer or mobile device in order to complete the different questions. It is a great way to identify any misconceptions that students may have, or assess prior knowledge
Virtual Lab: Create a Monster
This is another virtual lab that is good as a starting point for students, as the lab completes the monohybrid cross for them, but students must identify the phenotypes associated with the genotype of the offspring. It also goes through different genotypes of the parents so that students may observe how it affects the ratios of the genotypes and phenotypes of the offspring. Students are able to create used the given phenotypes as they go.
